PETER´S BLOG WORLD.

Hello and welcome to my new web blog. This is my second blog. I already have a web blog at http://visitbeijing.blogspot.com, and it is more like a travel blog about what to see and do in Beijing in China when you travel there. It also tells you a little about what I have done there on my visits in Beijing and maybe you can find some good tips in it. My wife and I live in her lovely appartment near Dongzhimen in central Beijing when we go there on our vacations. Her name is Liping. She is born there and has lived there for 40 years of her life. So we know a lot about how evrything works in Beijing. We are just back here in Stockholm after 5 and a half weeks in China. Very hot weather and a lot of things to do. The shopping was wonderful and the food was very good. I just love to ride on my bicykle through the old hutongs and the traffic is nice there compared with the avenues in this lovely city. I am honored to have this opportunity to go there every year!

This new one is meant to be more of a personal web blog about my self and what is going on around me and my friends. My name is Peter, and I work as a salesman in the food business in Stockholm in Sweden. Stockholm is also the city where I was born and live in. I am also a musician that plays instruments like drums, guitar, bass guitar, keyboard and harmonica. In the sixties I played in various pop groups, like Smash and Obnoxious, on the swedish west coast and in Denmark. At that time I played mostly drums, but in some occations also bass guitar. One concert is always coming back to me in my mind. We played at a concert with the swedish popular pop group The Mascots as their warming up band. Anyway the seventies came and I went to the USA, where I celebrated my 18th birthday, and also learnt how to play electric guitar.

This story is also very unique, because I lived with a family in Woodbridge just outside New Haven in Connecticut. Their son, Duke, turned out to to be a drummer too. So his family rented for me an electric Hagstrom guitar with an amplifier. Now we could practise together. That´s how I learnt to play electric guitar. Duke took me to many concerts, and among them I remeber bands like Chicago and Delaney and Bonnie with friends. Friends included a very special guitarist named Eric Clapton. Big for me, though I had already been to concerts in Sweden when he played with Cream. Another musician at that time that gave many influences to me was Jimi Hendrix. I saw his concerts two times and I also spoke to him about his albums in more than one hour. And don´t forget Janis Joplin or earlier influences like The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones and The Who.

Maybe I will tell you more about my music life later. Now I play in my music room in my appartment. I have 4 guitars, harmonicas, drum machine and two keyboards there. The pictures comes from my music room. Two differnt cool guitars. Feel free to check out my new blog now and then.

Love Peter

WHITE KNIGHTS IN MY HEART!

Well White Knights is a restaurant near the russian embassy in Beijing. I mostly go there at nights, during my stays in Beijing, to kind of rounding up the events of the day with a couple of beers. Usually one Heineken and one Tsingtao. While drinking them up I go through the photos taken today. I also think through what I have seen, and what I want to do the next day. This year we also went there to eat one night with eight persons. The food is really good, although some chinese people say it is not. Typically chinese way to express them selves. But that is only their way to say it is good, but too expensive for them! In reality the food is very good, and the service from the owners and their staff is of super quality! Now the price I would say is medium, if you use these three classes of restaurant prices: cheap, medium and expensive in Beijing. Although as I said you get a very good service, and always feels very welcome. White Knights is a place where many westerners go, but also m...

She have found her love in Michael from London...

THE LOVELY AND TASTY FOOD IN BEIJING!

Oh Yes! The lovely and tasty food in Beijing! I´m a very lucky guy, as I live within walking distance to most of Beijing´s restaurants open twentyfour hours! I´m joking, but I have something like over 500 restaurants within walking distance, and very good ones too! It´s like I live in the middle of the pulse in the city! Actually Beijing have more than sixty thousands of restaurants. Every day more than 100 opens up for business. But I live in the very busy food street area. That´s why I´m lucky. You know there is a joke in Beijing, that says if you visited a very good restaurant yesterday and wants to invite your friends the next day to this restaurant, please call it on your phone to be sure that it is still there the next day. All this before you call your friends for a dinner appointment there! Or you´re in for a big surprise the next day! My goal this year was to eat and try as many different kinds of food as possible during my five and a half weeks in Beijing in China. Now d...
